The Don Bartolome: Premium is a beautifully balanced, medium-bodied 5 x 50 Dominican cigar that proves power isn’t always necessary to impress. Dressed in a triple-fermented Habana 2000 wrapper, with a Dominican Habano binder and Dominican and Mexican fillers, this cigar is all about refinement and relaxation.
At first light, the profile is instantly comforting—barnyard and hay lead the way, followed by soft notes of nuts and cedar, all lightly dusted with baking spices. Pepper is virtually absent here, but what you get in return is an incredibly smooth, almost creamy smoking experience.
As you move into the second third, the cigar stays true to itself. The core flavors remain steady, with the nuttiness stepping forward and a subtle sweetness emerging. On the retrohale, a delicate raisin note lingers just long enough to keep things interesting without demanding attention.
In the final third, a pleasant mocha, coffee, and toffee-like character joins the party, rounding out the profile and adding a touch of richness to the already mellow blend.
As someone who typically gravitates toward full-throttle, pepper-heavy cigars with dark, bold flavors, this one genuinely surprised me. The Don Bartolome: Premium is the kind of cigar you reach for when the day is done—feet up on the deck, a glass of sweet bourbon in hand, and nothing on your mind but the moment.
While transitions were subtle, the flavors were consistently enjoyable and the overall smoothness made this an effortless, relaxing smoke.
